Due up this inning are Alan, Nephrite, and Malachite. C: And wasn't that a beautiful home run by Sailor Jupiter last inning? P: Indeed it was. A mammoth two-run shot that landed on Coventry Road, breaking the window of a passing bus. SA: Now batting, the first baseman, Alan! C: Alan is oh-for-one today, grounding out to second in his first at bat. He may be feeling the pressure from his sister Ann, who has singled and driven in a run already today. P: But the game isn't half over yet. Alan steps up to the plate. Tuxedo Mask gets the sign from Sailor Venus. Whatever it was, Sailor Moon isn't pleased about it. Time is called while Sailor Venus recovers from her fit of giggles. She settles in behind the plate. Tuxedo Mask is pitching from the wind-up. The pitch, a fastball over the plate for strike one. C: His speeds down from when he started. I can't even see the radar numbers from here. P: That's because the radar guy doesn't have a license for the radar gun. C: You can shoot radars? BN: >SMACK!< C: Look! Birds! P: Tuxedo Mask settles in, winds up. The pitch, a slider, low for ball one. Alan steps out of the box to get his signs, steps back in. Tuxedo Mask sights in, pitches from the wind-up. A change up. Alan hits the ball, sending it past a diving Sailor Moon. Sailor Jupiter charges the ball and throws a BB to first. Not! in time. Alan reaches base on a single. C: So now both he and his sister have a hit each. SA: Now batting, the right fielder, Nephrite! C: Nephrite is one for one, with a double and a run scored. P: Nephrite steps to the plate. Tuxedo Mask checks the runner at first. He gets his sign. From the stretch. It's a fastball. Nephrite swings and gets a piece of it, fouling it past right field. C: There's some movement in the Senshi's bullpen. P: Sailor Pluto is looking around for the spare catcher's gear. Nephrite steps back up to the plate. Tuxedo Mask has his sign, checks Alan at first. The pitch. Alan's moving on the pitch! Nephrite swings! and hits the ball to deep left field over Sailor Neptune's head. Alan rounds second! The ball rolls to the corner. Sailor Neptune gets the ball. Alan rounds third and he's heading for home! Sailor Neptune throws the ball in. It's cut off by Sailor Saturn. Alan scores the second run for the Overlords. Nephrite holds on second with his second double of the day. The Senshi's lead has been cut to a four-two lead. SA: Now batting, the catcher, Malachite! C: Malachite is one for one with a single in the second inning. P: Malachite comes to the plate with a runner on second and none out here in the fourth inning. Tuxedo Mask gets the sign and takes a look at Nephrite on second. C: You know, that sound is getting louder. P: [...] >Sigh< The pitch, a fastball low for ball one. BN: Popcorn! Cot-ton Candy! P: Tuxedo Mask checks the runner on second. Pitching from the stretch. A slider. Malachite gets under it. The ball's going to deep right field! Sailor Jupiter goes back! back! and catches it at the warning track! Nephrite tags up and runs to third. SA: Now batting, the shortstop, Ann! C: >Munch< Ann is one for one with an RBI. She singled in the second inning to bat in Nephrite. P: She's in the same situation here, with one out and Nephrite at third. Ann steps up to the plate. Tuxedo Mask is pitching from the wind-up. The pitch, a fastball nipping the outside corner for strike one. Ann calls for time to get her signs. She steps back in. Tuxedo Mask winds up, throws a slider swung! on and missed for strike two. Oh-and-two. C: >Chomp< >Slurp< P: Tuxedo Mask gets the sign. He winds up, pitches. It's a change up. Ann swings! She drives the ball past a diving Sailor Mars into left field. Nephrite scores! Sailor Neptune comes up with the ball and fires it to Sailor Mercury. Ann holds on first with a single and an RBI. The Senshi now only have a one-run lead over the Overlords. C: I know I hear something! P: [...] SA: Now batting, the left fielder, the Tennis Youma! C: The Tennis Youma is oh-for-one with a strikeout in the second inning. P: She comes up with a runner at first and one out. C: Luna should be getting someone up in the bullpen soon. P: But she isn't. She has faith in her starters. The Tennis Youma steps into the batter's box. Tuxedo Mask checks the runner at first. C: Ann has sixteen stolen bases on the year. P: Tuxedo Mask is pitching from the stretch. He checks the runner. Looks back to the plate. Ann takes her lead from first. The pitch, a fastball, low. The Youma smacks it down the first base line. Should be an easy play for Sailor Moon. Oh, no! She boots it! Tuxedo Mask is there to recover the ball but The Tennis Youma is safe at first. We'll wait to see what the official scorer says. C: That was a tough break for Tuxedo Mask. What should have been an easy out now puts runners on first and second with only one out. P: The official scorer, Patricia Haruna, is no stranger to seeing mistakes by Sailor Moon. She rules the play an error on the first base. For those of you scoring at home, that's E-3. SA: Now batting, playing second base, Zoisite. C: Zoisite is oh-for-one, grounding into a double play in the second inning. P: Zoisite comes to the plate with one out and runners at first and second. Tuxedo Mask checks the runner at second. He pitched from the stretch. The throw, a fastball, swung! on and missed for strike one. C: Tuxedo Mask is still getting ahead of the batter. P: Zoisite steps back into the batter's box. The runners take their lead, Ann on second, the Tennis Youma on first. One out, the count is oh-and-one. From the stretch, a slider. Zoisite smashes a screaming line drive up the first base line. Sailor Moon dives! and comes up with the ball. She slaps at the bag and gets! the double play! Sailor Moon has made an unassisted double play to end the top of the fourth inning. The scoreboard for the top of the fourth: two runs on three hits and an error by the Senshi and one left on board. After three and a half innings, the score is Senshi four, Overlords three. SA: Now batting, playing second base, Sailor Mercury! C: Sailor Mercury is oh-for-one today, grounding out to third in the first inning today. P: Sailor Mercury is a defensive star for the Senshi, making only one error this season. She steps into the batter's box. Jadeite gets his sign, pitches. It's a fastball, swung at for strike one. C: I shouldn't have had all that salt. P: Sailor Mercury steps back up to the plate. Jadeite pitches from the wind-up. Another fastball, low for ball one. One and one. C: Sailor Mercury has a good eye at the plate and won't swing at any bad pitch. She has only struck out fifteen times, despite her low batting average. P: But she is an outstanding player at second base. C: I thought she was batting. P: Sailor Mercury returns to the batter's box. Jadeite gets his sign. He winds up, throws. Another fastball down the middle. Sailor Mercury swings! and chops the ball down the third base side foul for strike two. One and two. C: I really shouldn't have had al that salt. BN: Get yer ice cold drinks! P: Sailor Mercury steps back up to the plate. The count is one and two with none out here in the bottom of the fourth. Jadeite pitches, it's a slider, missed outside for ball two. Two and two. C: >Slurp< P: That's the most intelligent thing you've said all day. C: >Gulp< Huh? P: Jadeite steps on the rubber. He gets the sign, winds up. The pitch, a fastball. Sailor Mercury swings! and chops one down the third base line. Rubeus comes up with it, throws to first and gets the out. One out. C: >Sluck< I - P: If it's the noise again, I *don't* want to hear it. C: Just wait until my interviews are played. SA: Now batting, the shortstop, Sailor Saturn! C: >Slup< Sailor Saturn is oh-for-one, grounding out to short in her last at bat. P: Sailor Saturn comes up to bat with one out and no-one on board with the Senshi leading by one run. She steps up to the plate. Jadeite looks in for the sign. From the wind-up, a slider. Sailor Saturn swings! and pops it up. Malachite's calls for it ... he's under it. Two away. SA: Now batting, the pitcher, Tuxedo Mask! C: >Glurp< Tuxedo Mask is oh-for-one. He flied out to right field in the second inning. P: Jadeite also threw at him last time. Greg issued a warning in the third after Jadeite threw at Sailor Jupiter. Tuxedo Mask steps into the batter's box, determination in his eye. C: >Shoork< You can see that through the mask? BN: >SMACK!< P: Jadeite winds up and pitches. A fastball, just outside for ball one. Tuxedo Mask gets his signs from Artemis. Jadeite gets his from Malachite. Jadeite winds up, throws. It's a slider. Tuxedo Mask swings. It's a grounder. Zoisite fields it, comes up throwing. The play at first and he's out! Tuxedo Mask grounds out to Zoisite to end the inning. C: >Zork< Ahh! I heard it again!
